Navua river and cultural experience

River Canoeing

Travel to the township of Navua where you begin your journey to a world of wonderment. This peaceful trip up the beautiful Navua River will have you mesmorised with it's beauty.  Travel past villages, famlands, tropical rainforest and deep canyons.  Meander through small rapids and witness the beauty of numerous waterfalls.  Look out for the array of native birds too.

Magical Waterfall Swim

Approximately 1hr up the river we will stop at the biggest waterfall on the Navua River. (it can accommodate up to 100 people). There is a 5min walk into the wilderness meandering along side the cascading water to get to the first pool. For the more adventurous our guides are there to help you get to the bigger falls.  Plunge in to the refreshing cool water and feel the thunder of the water as it hits the water.  You truly are 'at one with nature'

Bamboo Rafting

This ride on the unsinkable "HMS BILIBILI". It is a re-enactment of the centuries old way of transport before roads or motors were introduced. Transfer from  your punt on to the bamboo raft (not as tricky as it sounds) and enjoy this smooth ride for about 30 minutes down stream.  You hear nothing but the sound of the forest and the birds - no motors used. Go with the flow.

Fijian Village Tour

A day on the river wouldn't be complete if you didn't visit a village. Be welcomed by the sound of the conch shell as a Fijian Warrior escorts you to the village meeting house (Bure). Experience age-old customs and traditions with  a customary welcome yaqona (kava) ceremony. This sacred ceremony is only performed to visiting high chiefs or very important visitors. Enjoy a tour of the village taking in the kindergarten, watch a coconut be cracked open with bare hands and learn how they prepare the grass for basket weaving.  You can purchase a coconut freshly prepared in front of you and drink the delicious water inside. Watch as the lovo is unveiled then enjoy a hearty meal followed by some dancing.
